We spoke with Andy Ho (he/ him) to discuss his experience within the department.
Andy ho is a graduating senior from Seattle University with a B.S. in Sports and Exercise Science and a B.A. in Theatre. He is looking to pursue physical therapy within the scope of theatre and performance art and is dedicated to the exploration and intersectionality of the arts, health, and wellness.

Dave Ohlson is a physician specializing in Internal Medicine, but before all that he was as a photographer, filmmaker and climber. Interests in adventure, photography, humanitarian work and research have taken him around the world including Nepal, Tibet, Pakistan, Peru, Chile, West Africa and Antarctica. Dave’s focus is human adaptation to extreme environments. He conducts research via Two Pines Expeditionary Research. He was previously the Director of Research Initiatives for USX.vet. Dave has worked with the JRM Foundation and Pacific Northwest Surgical Outreach.

Ally Mohr joined the Seattle Therapy Network team after working in early intervention and an outpatient pediatric clinic in the Chicago area. She enjoys bringing families into the therapy process and focusing on each child's potential.
Ally specializes in Sensory Processing, Praxis, Postural control, Emotional regulation, and Infant and toddler development. Bringing the FUN in FUNCTION is her goal in scaffolding each of her clients maximal independence.

Kyle Davis is a co-owner & trainer at Northwest Fitness Project in Seattle, Wa. Kyle has a background as a Massage Therapist, Ultra Marathoner, Running Coach, Indoor Cycling Instructor, Yoga Teacher, & Linguist. His mission at Northwest Fitness Project is to help people move better so they can move more, enjoy their life, their sports, and their passions without pain or restriction. Outside the gym Kyle enjoys playing with his 2 Australian Shepherds, renovating his house with his wife, cooking, & running up mountains.

D'Anthony Smith, Ed.D, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, has been in practice since 2018 and has over 20 years of sports performance experience, athlete development, with children adolescents, adults, and families. His clinical specialties include adolescent development and dynamics, Development Trauma, and helping athletes heal emotionally.
He is the founder of Unleash! A player development platform that values athletes' emotional, social, and mental development, serves as the Director of Clinical Counseling services at the PTSD Institute in Seattle, WA, and advocates for emotional development within athletes. Smith also hosts several workshops dedicated to building leadership qualities, assertiveness, and self-acceptance. In addition, he is also an International Coaching Federation certified coach helping individuals develop the confidence to relaunch into life.
Smith designed one of the first clothing lines dedicated to embracing mental and emotional health in the sporting community and developed the first class of multi-development supplements for adolescent athletes while teaching at Seattle Pacific University.
Smith has 20 years of sports performance experience including playing Division 1 football for Louisiana Tech University and 5 years in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions , Chicago Bears , and the Seattle Seahawks, being a part of the SuperBowl Championship team with the Seahawks in 2014!

Wendy Huddleston, PT, PhD, Associate Professor, is the Director of both the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program and the Visuomotor Lab at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. In her research, she uses functional magnetic resonance imaging and psychophysical testing to address questions regarding brain activity involved in attentional selection of sensory and motor information necessary for task completion, and how changes in brain activity might affect performance from eye movements to leg injuries in a variety of populations. Dr. Huddleston received her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, earned her Master’s Degree in Motor Control at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, completed her doctoral work at the Medical College of Wisconsin in cognitive neuroscience, and then went on to the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics for her postdoctoral work in Tuebingen, Germany.

We continued our Black History Month tribute series with this episode. We had Leslie Burnett and Lynisha Batson, President and Vice President of Seattle University School of Law's Women of Color Coalition (WOCC) on the podcast to talk about their experiences.
Leslie (she/her) is a 1L (Sect. D) with a focus on criminal justice reform and immigration. Leslie is a part of the Access to Justice Institute as a First-Year fellow and the Public Interest Legal Fund as a First-Year Representative. Prior to law school, Leslie worked for King County's Department of Public Defense, after graduating from SU for undergrad. Leslie's goal in founding the Womxn of Color Coalition (WOCC), is to create an inviting space for womxn of color, where they feel safe sharing their law school experiences. WOCC's goal is to provide a support network for womxn of color at SU Law, and to bring issues we face as womxn of color to the administration to garner change in our school's culture and understanding of intersectionality.
Lynisha (she/her) is a 1L (Sect.D) with a focus on privacy law and intellectual property. Lynisha is part of several organizations including the Intellectual Property Law Society, Black Law Student Association, Space Law Society, Privacy Law Student Association, Artificial Intelligence Law Society, and International Law Society. She works with the WSBA Privacy Committee as their Law Student Liason. Prior to law school, Lynisha obtained her master's degree in Public Administration from Georgia State University. As the Vice President of the Womxn of Color Coalition, Lynisha is dedicated to creating safe spaces and providing resources to those that identify as women of color and allies.

Our second Black History Month Tribute episode featured Fitness Trainer and Coach Rhonda Harper. Rhonda aka “Coach Rho” is the champion in diversity and inclusion within the surf industry. Rho started Black Girls Surf out of the lack of representation within the surf industry. She has been training women since the age of 15 when she started working after school at Kaiser Hospital as the aerobic instructor for the nursing staff. Her passion for surfing, her background in civil rights and her resume of work within the surf industry is historic.

Emani Parsons has always been interested in nutrition, health, and wellness. Emani studied Health Science at Lincoln University and received a master’s in Human Nutrition from Columbia University Institute of Human Nutrition. Community nutrition, nutrition education, and cooking and baking are some of Emani’s passions. She currently works as a High School Health and Wellness Teacher while operating her nutrition and baking business, Vegan Mani, LLC.
